Arthur Bowen, 79, of Jefferson City, died Monday, November 17, 2003, in Jefferson City. He was born on December 14, 1923 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of Arthur and Mayme Hill Bowen. He was married on June 30, 1949 in Jefferson City to Frances Marie Antweiler who survives at the home. Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Debbie Bowen, Jefferson City; a daughter and son-in-law, Leasa and Bob Conner, Olathe, Kansas; four grandchildren, Chris Bowen, Lori Bowen, Lily Conner, and Shaun Conner; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Antweiler, Jefferson City. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, 3210 N. Ten Mile Drive, Jefferson City, MO 65109, with the Rev. Donald W. Lammers officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Ronald McDonald House, 1001 E. Stadium Boulevard, Columbia, MO 65201; or Callaway Hills Animal Shelter, 2714 State Road TT, Holts Summit, MO 65043. A veteran of World War II, he served for thirty-seven years with the Missouri Department of Highways & Transportation until retiring in 1987 as Controller. He was a member of the Christian faith and in earlier years was an active leader in many community and civic organizations.
