Arthur Joseph Schulte, Sr., 75, of Jefferson City, died Monday, July 4, 2005, at St. Marys Health Center. He was born on Nov. 19, 1929, in Jefferson City, the son of J. Henry and Leona Regina Kerperin Schulte. He was married on Dec. 10, 1955, in Kansas City, MO to Evangeline Ruth Burridge who survives at the home. He was a United States Navy veteran stationed at the Naval Air Station in Norfolk, Virginia from 1947 to 1951 as an Air Traffic Controller. He was employed with L.M. Berry Company for several years and later with the Jefferson City Park Board. From 1960 until his retirement in 1991, he was employed with the Missouri Department of Corrections, achieving many systems improvements while serving in various capacities including case worker at MSP Diagnostic Center; assistant superintendent at Moberly Corrections Center; associate superintendent at Algoa Reformatory; superintendent at St. Marys Honor Center, St. Louis; associate warden at Tipton Correctional Center; and associate warden at Fulton Diagnostic Center. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; Holy Name Society; Missouri Historical Society; Cole County Historical Society; Osage County Historical Society; Toastmasters International; Outward Bound Program; and was a volunteer with the Meals-on-Wheels program. Arthur enjoyed the outdoors, visiting family and friends, cooking, and lively political discussion. Other survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Laura and Bob Scott, Fulton, MO; Juliana Schulte, Sedalia, MO; and Jennifer Leona and Mark Polys, Jefferson City; two sons and their wives, John Henry III and Donna Schulte, Jefferson City; and Arthur Joseph, Jr. and Rhonda Schulte, Apopka, Florida; three grandchildren, Kristina Bright; Kenneth Schulte; and John Christian Schulte; three step-grandchildren, Eric Maher; Deborah Allen; and Omer Buddy Scott; two step-great-grandsons, Travis Scott; and Andy Johnson; and four sisters, Margaret Brethorst, Jeannette Hurley, and Emily Roseman, all of St. Louis; and Mary Elizabeth Cissy Neumeyer and her husband, Gordon, of Cape Girardeau, MO. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Frederick Anthony Schulte and John Henry Jack Schulte, Jr.; and one sister, Patricia Ann Nolan. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2005, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Patrick G. Dolan officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, July 7th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic School, 216 Broadway, Jefferson City, MO 65101; Immaculate Conception Holy Name Society, 1206 E.
