Audrey Anna Humphreys

She was born December 5, 1929 in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Arvey Reginald and Anna Louise (Blank) Koetter. She resided in the St. Louis/St. Charles area until 2017 when she moved to Jefferson City.
She was married on February 2, 1952 in St. Louis to Thomas Richardson Humphreys who preceded her in death on July 27. 2010.
Audrey graduated from Harris Teachers College, where she became a lifelong member of the Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society. She taught elementary school for 35 years in St. Louis City and County. After retiring she volunteered at Shriners Hospitals for Children in St. Louis.
She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in St. Charles, where she attended regularly and served as a volunteer in the church library.
Audrey was an avid reader who enjoyed baking and traveling to Europe. She loved her family and friends, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Cris (Gary) Luethans, Gilbert, Arizona; two sons, Craig (Vicky) Humphreys, Lancaster, Wisconsin; and Cole (Kelly) Humphreys, Jefferson City; nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents; her husband, Thomas; and a sister, Delores Dubray.
Audrey will always be remembered as an elegant, charming lady who set an example of what a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend should be. She is greatly missed.
Memorials are suggested to Shriners Hospitals for Children in St. Louis or to Samaritan’s Purse.
