Bernice Hazel Luecke, 83, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility surrounded by her family.
She was born on Aug. 5, 1926, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late David Seriphin and Anna Marie Veith Kauffman. She was married on June 30, 1952, in Jefferson City to Arthur William Luecke who passed away on May 8, 2007. A homemaker, Mrs. Luecke was employed with International Shoe Company in earlier years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and St. Anns Sodality. She enjoyed flowers and tending to her garden. Her greatest love was for her family especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Arthur Steven (Karen) Luecke, Rolla, Mo.; and Ronald B. Luecke, Lohman, Mo.; two daughters, Pamela A. (Jeffrey) Himmelberg, Overland Park, Kan.; and Suzanne M. (Brian) Schulte, Westphalia, Mo.; five grandchildren, Andrew Luecke, Matthew Luecke, Grant Schulte, Jared Schulte, and Carson Schulte; one brother, John Kauffman, Jefferson City, Mo.; and one sister, Anna Mae Hentges, Jefferson City. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill Kauffman, Henry Kauffman, Bernard Kauffman, and one sister, Virginia Bruning.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. David J. Viet officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1206 East McCarty Street, Jefferson City, Mo 65101.
