Carmen Blanche Papen
February 27, 1942 ~ December 26, 2020
She was born February 27, 1942, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late Oscar and Florence (Wyss) Fischer.
She was a 1960 graduate of Jamestown High School.
She was united in marriage on June 10, 1961, in California, Missouri to Michael Papen who still survives.
Carmen worked for the Missouri Farm Bureau, Jamestown Schools, and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education from which she retired in November 2001.
Carmen loved her family more than anything. She enjoyed piddling around the house, traveling, fishing with Mike, dogs, reading, running errands with her son, Andy, on Saturday mornings and University of Missouri sports. She and Mike were Mizzou basketball season ticket holders for many years. She once had to have surgery during the basketball season and scheduled the surgery so that she would miss the fewest games.
She loved the fall of the year, and the holiday season in December, when she would spend much time decorating the house with her huge collection of Christmas decorations.
Survivors include her husband, Mike Papen, Jefferson City, and a son, Andy Papen, Jefferson City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Florence (Wyss) Fischer; and her daughter-in-law, Lois Papen, all of whom she greatly missed.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Monday, January 4, 2021, at the Grace United Methodist Cemetery, Jamestown, Missouri, with the Rev. Joe Laprise officiating.
The general public is welcome to attend the services while following social distancing guidelines. Facial coverings are required while in attendance.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Samaritan Center, Jefferson City, Missouri.
Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Those wishing to send condolences to the family may do so at the www.dulletrimble.com website.

I am reminded of when we had “stay-overs” at your house and how gracious of a host Carmen and Mike were to us young boys. I always took it for granted that she would have a smile for us as we saw her in the school. Carmen will be missed by many. Mike and Andy, I am so sorry for your loss. God bless you through this tough season.
Carmen always had a smile! She brightened all the students days when we would see her first thing in high school. I was also privileged to work with her at Dept of Education. We worked down the hall from each other and related lots of memories of Jamestown. Mike and Andy are in all our thoughts and prayers. Love to you both.
MIke and Andy, Our deepest sympathy to you. Keeping you in our thoughts and praying for comfort and peace. I know this leaves a huge void in your lives. Love you guys! Pam & Keith
