Carolyn Joanne Lehman, 80, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Jefferson City Manor Care.
She was born on April 14, 1937, in Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of the Kenneth Thurston, Sr., and Margaret Parks Thurston. She was later adopted by William and Clara Walker.
Mrs. Lehman received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University.
She served ten years as Welfare Fraud Investigator with the Department of Social Services for Los Angeles County, California.
She was a member of First Christian Church, El Monte, California, and sang with the Sweet Adelines in Pasadena, California, for several years.
Survivors include two children, Christine (James) Swift, Ocala, Florida; and William (Heather) Lehman, Holts Summit, Missouri; three grandchildren, Shilo, Isaac, and Guenevere Lehman, all of Jefferson City; one brother, Kenneth Thurston, Jr., Prescott, Arizona; one sister, Jenee (John) Littleton, Phoenix, Arizona; one half-brother to Christine and Bill, Gary (Mary) Lehman, Largo, Florida; and two half-sisters to Christine and Bill, Jackie (Dick) Taylor, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; and Jennett (Richard) Huddleston, State of Texas.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
