Catherine Ann "Cathy" Braun

Catherine Ann “Cathy” Braun, 60, of Osage Bend, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on November 30, 1965, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Herbert Joseph and Rosemary Frances (Goth) Fechtel.

A 1984 graduate of Fatima High School, Catherine received an Associate Degree in Accounting from State Technical College of Missouri in 1986.

She was united in marriage on August 19, 1995, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia, to Jerry David Braun, who survives at home.

Cathy worked for SSM St. Mary’s Health Center in the billing and accounting department. In earlier years, she worked at Capital Children’s Clinic. She also decorated cakes at Gerbes.

She was a member of St. Margaret of Antioch where she served as a song leader, the finance committee, parish council, picnic committee, and quilt committee. She was past president of St. Margaret’s Ladies Sodality.

Cathy loved serving her family, church, and community. She was Osage Bend Cloverleafs 4-H cake decorating leader, created many quilt tops for the parish, friends, and family, baked and decorated many cakes for family and friends. She was always willing to accommodate specific requests when making decorated cakes or sewing together a quilt top.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry; her mother, Rosemary; two children, Jesse Braun; and Cody Braun, both of Osage Bend; siblings, Daniel (Peggy) Fechtel, Westphalia; Jane (John) Hoeller, Koeltztown; Rita Fechtel; Mark (Amy) Fechtel; and Darlene (Darryl) Wolken; all of Westphalia; father & mother-in-law, David & Anna Marie Braun, Osage Bend; in laws, Greg Braun (Sharon Miller), Osage Bend, Gwen Braun, Osage Bend, Dale (Brenda) Braun, Osage Bend, Brenda (Leo) Ahlers, Osage Bend, Roxann (Kenneth) Koon, Wardsville, Sam (Roxanne) Braun, Osage Bend, Daryl (Jennifer) Braun, Osage Bend; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Fechtel and a sister-in-law, Charlotte Braun.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2026, at St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church with a prayer service at 3:45 p.m. An additional visitation will be 9 – 10 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2026, at the church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2026, at St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. David A. Cox officiating.

Burial will be in St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to St. Margaret’s Ladies Sodality or to St. Margaret’s Quilting Circle.
