CELESTINE "SALLY" STROPE

Celestine Sally Strope, 84, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born on Jan. 1, 1922 in Cole County, the daughter of Otto and Mathilda Matheisen Schmidt. She was married on Jan. 20, 1948 in Jefferson City to Norbert G. Strope who died on Jan. 20, 1990. A homemaker, Mrs. Strope was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; St. Anns Sodality; Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary; American Legion Auxiliary; and the St. Thomas Over-Fifty Club. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Marsha Strope, St. Thomas; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jim Irwin, St. Thomas; three grandchildren, Wayne Strope, Vanessa Frahm, and Jesse Irwin; four great-grandchildren, Cory Strope, Lauren Strope, Auburn Frahm, and Jaden Frahm; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Lucille and Mark Copeland, Jefferson City; Frieda Wolfe, Warrenton, MO; and Leon Alber, Jefferson City; and one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Schmidt, Jefferson City. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce Strope; three sisters, Leona Alber, Norine Schmidt, and Delphine Moore; one brother, Jim Schmidt; and an infant brother, Joseph Schmidt. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Patrick G. Dolan officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Masses or to a charity of the donors choice.
