Charles Henry Falter, 72, of Westphalia, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, at the home of his sister in Argyle. He was born on Jan. 16, 1932 in Westphalia, the son of Charles Fritz and Mary Elizabeth Meyerpeter Falter. He received his education at Winkelman School near Westphalia. Survivors include two sisters and one brother-in-law, Catherine Brandt, Chamois; and Mary and Fred Bure, Argyle; nine nieces; and four nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Bernard John Falter; and one sister, Gertrude C. Boeckmann. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, with the Rev. Thomas E. McGrath officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Westphalia. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Westphalia, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Masses. A United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in Germany, Mr. Falter farmed in the Osage County area all of his adult life. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia; Argyle Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8045; and Westphalia American Legion Post 544.
