  1. I will most miss talking about classic cars with him at Command Web. He had always been a very pleasant man to converse with and will be sorely missed at the plant. My deepest condolences to his family.

  2. Chris was a great person..good boss.. always had a smile ….his door was aways open. He will be missed.

  3. CHRIS WAS A GREAT MAN AND BOSS. I WORKED FOR HIM WHEN command web first opened, he let me take him for a ride in my rail buggy. We got so muddy and yes he had his suit on. But he loved it and even went inside to let everyone share in on the fun

  4. Chris was an exceptional person and a good friend. We lived next door to Chris and Laurelanne for many years when we lived in Jefferson City. We could not have asked for better neighbors. Chris always had a smile and could tell a great story. He will be missed! Our condolences to Laurelanne and their family.

  5. My father, Robert C Schacht, had Chris as a student at Indiana State University and spoke very highly of him. I know Chris and my father corresponded before my father’s death. I am so sorry to see this. That is very nice that donations are to be made to my father’s scholarship at Indiana State Foundation, the Robert C Schacht scholarship in the School of Technology.

  6. We offer our deepest sympathy to Chris’ family. Our land adjoins Chris’ “hobby farm”. He was an exceptional neighbor, always willing to lend a hand to anyone here in our area. He always had a welcoming smile and often shared good ideas for the betterment of our neighborhood. He will be missed greatly. Our prayers for peace and comfort for his family continue. May the memories of Chris bring joy and warmth to your heart. Roger and Janet Bergman

  7. Chris is my brother in law, and I could not have asked for a more lovable, generous, and kind brother. When my dad was on life support, he took me to Starbucks and we sat on the Gulf beach and talked. He got me away from a very difficult situation. I will always remember his care and sense of humor. I love you, Chris, and I know you are all around us.❤️

  8. I received a check-donation today. Will hold onto it until the volume of cards levels off, then forward them to ISU. Thank you for your kind words, Bob.

  9. I met Chris through work, but had the pleasure of knowing him deeper through our conversations even after I left the organization. Chris was a nice man who always took the time for a kind word or sounding board of reason. He will be deeply missed. I send my deepest and heart felt condolences to his family.

  10. Chris was my brother-in-law. I loved his wry sense of humor and witty but understated comments that always made me laugh. He was smart, kind and gave good advice. I remember him fishing at my parent’s condo in Florida and he seemed relaxed and content. Great memories in Florida, Missouri, Chicago and California. He will be missed.

  11. Laurelanne I was so sorry to hear about Chris! Always enjoyed our visits at his check up! I know how you feel please let me know if you need a friend to talk to. Know what you are going through. Lost my Jim 9 yrs ago and it doesn’t seem possible! Prayers are with you! Debbie McIlwain from Dr Tungesvik

  12. In the past several days I have concluded that I will never run out of memories of Chris. I am so lucky to have had 63 years of experiences that will help me through the rest of my life. I can’t count the times I have seen the exact image of Chris that is at the top of this notice. Each time we laughed and reminisced about our families. He gave me wise advice when I asked for it and support when I needed that. So many times he has helped others in the same way. I am posting just a few of the many photos taken on one of our trips to Yellowstone. I am indescribably thankful for those times.

  13. I knew Chris was a good person when he helped me pick up a light table for my artwork from Command Web. He arranged it and took the time to have it ready for me to pick up. Lots of stained glass art was made possible by having that light table. Thank you, Chris and Laurelanne for going out of your way to help people with even the smallest of things. May your soul rest in peace and may your families be comforted.

  14. Worked with Chris for 25+ years. He was a good friend and I will miss our talks about tractors, guns, farming and anything to do with the great outdoors. RIP my friend until we meet on the long trail again. Steve Lange

  15. My sincere codolences to the family and loving friends of Chris. We were classmates through our highschool years at Ben Davis High in Indianapolis, primarily in Printing classes. We both spent our careers in the printing business, and he was one of the most intelligent and kind persons I’ve ever known. He was one of my roll models, and a person whom I always admired for many great qualities. I had seen him only a handful of occasions over the last 45 years, most recently a couple of years ago when he visited my home in Speedway Indiana when he was in town to attend the Indy 500. It was a short visit with rushed discussion of our careers in the industry, but I feel blessed to have crossed paths with him after so many years. May he rest in heaven until our paths cross again. Some were great who came before, but none as great as the class of ’74. – Joe Cox

  16. Chris hired me 25+ years ago. I miss seeing him walking through the plant, talking to people along the way, smiling and whistling as he walked. Each time I would get into a spontaneous conversation with him, I would learn a little more about his interests ranging from the outdoors to the printing industry. He helped through some tough times and was a voice of reason that I needed. He was my boss, friend and mentor. My thoughts and prayers to his family. He is greatly missed.

  17. I was a the ink salesman for Command Web. I met with Chris many times over the 11 years I was on the account. At lunch, dinner or in the press room, I valued his wit and wisdom as well as the respect he showed everyone around him. I retired in 2016 and was certainly shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. Prayers and condolences to his family. He was a wonderful human being. -Cecil Watts- Flint Ink
