Clara “Belle” Fennessey, 94, of Jefferson City died Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at St. Mary’s Hospital.

She was born May 16, 1930, in Sullivan County, Missouri to Wade and Jocie (Buckner) Watson.

She graduated from Humphreys High School and Chillicothe Business College.

She was married to the love of her life, Earl Thomas Fennessey, on November 6, 1954, at Visitation Catholic Church in Kansas City, MO. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2008.

After a short career in banking, she spent the remainder of her life being an amazing wife and mom.

Survivors include: her children, Tom (Linda) Fennessey, Tim (Melinda) Fennessey, JoAnn (Dan) Sauer, and Rosemary (John) Berhorst, all from the Jefferson City area; her grandchildren, Clarissa and Taryn Fennessey, Megan (Jeremy) Hughes, Daniel Fennessey, Seth (Maddie) Fennessey, Katie (Kody) Sauer, Jessie Sauer, Lee (Nyssa) Berhorst, and Fr. Brad Berhorst; her great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Parker, and Eli Hughes; Henry Hawkins, and Rhetlyn and Evolette Berhorst. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Marge Watson, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her spouse; her parents; her brother, Joel Watson; and numerous family and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City from 2:30-5 p.m. beginning with a prayer service at 2 p.m.

Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jefferson City, officiated by her grandson, Fr. Brad Berhorst. Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Visitation Catholic Cemetery in Vienna, MO.

Memorial contributions can be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or Helias High School.

    I was saddened to learn of your mother’s passing. I have great memories of her from all the family gatherings while growing up and even into adulthood. I know she will be missed, lived a good long life and will be reunited with your dad in heaven.

    Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend visitation or the funeral as I will be on the road for work leaving home Sunday. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families during this difficult time.

    I am sorry to learn of your mom’s passing. I remember when she and your dad were at office functions, her laughter filled the room. Your dad was great to work with also.
