CLETUS CARL PRINGER
April 5, 1923 ~ July 23, 2010
He was born on April 5, 1923, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Ben G. and Lena Wilbers Pringer. Cletus was a United States Army veteran serving during World War II with the 710th Tank Battalion. He was united in marriage on April 27, 1948, in Jefferson City, to Mary Delores Bohmann who resides at the home. Cletus was a truck driver for John Groner Trucking Co., Meadow Gold Ice Cream Co., and Hamms Beer Co. He also was a carpenter with Don Cure Construction Co. He retired from Isis Chemical Co. as a warehouseman. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Mens Sodality, life-time member of VFW Post 1003, and the American Legion. Cletus enjoyed cutting grass for his neighbors and friends, playing with his dog Bear, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Diana (Dennis) Strickland, Jefferson City; two grandchildren, Jeffrey (Andrea) Strickland; Christopher (Brandy) Strickland; four great-grandchildren, Kale Strickland, Kassidy Strickland, Reagan Strickland, Landon Strickland; one sister, Evelyn Bode, Osage Bend; one brother, Eugene (Geraldine) Pringer, Wardsville; and a sister-in-law, Edna Prenger, Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Oscar Prenger, David Prenger, Ray Prenger, Monroe Prenger, Walter Pringer; and two sisters, Ludvina Rackers and Mabel Bernskoetter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. J. David Maher officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donors choice.
