Cornelia “Corky” Dietrich, 103, formerly of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully at her home in New Jersey, on October 19, 2021.

Born Cornelia Braden on July 14, 1918, in Ottumwa, Iowa. She was raised in Utica, Missouri where she met her future husband, Joseph E. Dietrich (1916-1994).

Until her retirement, Corky was the assistant Chief Clerk for the House of Representatives for the State of Missouri for over 25 years.

Corky moved to Teaneck, NJ in 2004 to be closer to her immediate family. She found a second home at St. Anastasia Church, and quickly made new friends as she became involved with church and in her new community. She was as devoted to her family as she was to her faith.

Survives include her son, Gary Dietrich (Laura); grandson, Joseph (Phil); granddaughter, Elizabeth (Mike); and many nieces and nephews.

Her family is also grateful for the loving care of Grace Boamah for the last six years of Corky’s life.

Visitation will be 10-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Committal service will follow at Resurrection Catholic Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Anastasia Church, 1095 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, NJ 07666.

  3. Corky, had a village of friends. I was one of the card players. But more than that she was a dear friend of my sister, AnnaMarie Klebba. I am contributing these comments along with AnnaMarie, as she is not able to do so. Prayers and sympathy are presented to all of the family. Corky was an inspiration in life particularly in her Catholic devotion. Gratitude for that will always be present in our memories

  7. Gary and Family: I always looked forward to the visits from Joe and Cornelia Ann to our farm in Iowa when I was growing up. They were the kindest people and it was an honor and privilege to be their cousin. They always asked about my family. Rest in Peace, dear Cornelia Ann.

  8. Gary and Family, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear mother, Corky. My parents thought the world of your parents. My dad (Shine Gurnee) and your Dad were best buddies in WWII. We even went to visit them twice in Jefferson City. I have a beautiful photo of your parents cutting their wedding cake which my dad had in his possession and now I have. If you want a copy, let me know via email. Marsha (Gurnee) Suszan Marshtron@aol.com
