CYRUS LEO "TOOTS" NENTWIG

Cyrus Leo Toots Nentwig, 79, of Jefferson City, died Monday, Aug. 8, 2005, at Villa Marie Skilled Care. He was born on March 9, 1926, in Jefferson City, the son of Leo Henry and Bertha Saladin Nentwig. A 1944 graduate of St. Peter High School, Mr. Nentwig was co-owner of Nentwig Lumber Company for many years until his retirement in 1991. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1003; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693; honorary member of Missouri Sheriffs Association; and a charter member of the National World War II Museum in Washington, D.C. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Cyrenne and Bill Rogers, Lees Summit, MO; two grandchildren, Lauren Brattin and Gina Reese; three great-grandchildren, Mariah Brattin, Kayla Brattin; and Richard Brattin, III; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Betty and Peter Borman; and Eleanor Nentwig, all of Jefferson City; and one sister-in-law, Anna Mae Nentwig, Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by one brother, Arthur C. Nentwig. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, 2005, at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph with the Rev. Ignazio C. Medina and the Rev. Robert H. Fields officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with the Rosary recited at 4 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Church Building Fund, 216 Broadway Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101; Helias Foundation, POB 694, Jefferson City, MO 65102-0694; or a charity of the donors choice.
