Darvin Louis Shikles

Darvin Louis Shikles, 86, of Russellville, passed away Monday, June 1, 2026, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born June 29, 1939, in Russellville, the son of Edward and Mary (Butcher) Shikles. He was a 1958 graduate of Russellville High School.
On August 30, 1958, at Corticelli Baptist Church in Russellville, Darvin married Rosalee Ann Stockwell who survives.
A lifelong farmer, Darvin raised dairy cattle for many years and planted crops year after year. Darvin also worked in the construction industry including several years with his son and Twehous Excavating Company. He was a member of Corticelli Baptist Church. Darvin loved being out on his farm, spending time with his grandchildren, and watching NASCAR and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalee Shikles, Russellville; three children, Tim (Roberta) Shikles, California; Devona Maharas, Russellville; Darla (Ryan) Hickey, Russellville; nine grandchildren, Andrea (Andrew) Larison, Brittany Shikles (Keith Brown), Caitlin (Brandon) Blackwell, Kenny Maharas, Collin (Alison) Maharas, Bella Maharas, Braden Hickey, Ethan Hickey, Cora Hickey; twelve great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bonnie of Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Ken Maharas; and four siblings, Ewing Shikles, Vivian McCarty, Jewell Shikles, and Elwyn Shikles.
Visitation will be 9:30-11 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Corticelli Baptist Church west of Russellville. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Greg Morrow officiating. Burial will be in Enloe Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Corticelli Baptist Church.

I am very sorry to learn of Darwin’s passing. He was a good man. He really enjoyed cracking jokes with my late husband, Paul. Prayers for all the family.
