He was born December 9, 1964, in Chillicothe to the late Delmas and Helen (Runyon) Albertson. A few years after graduating from Chillicothe High School, he moved to Jefferson City where he attended Lincoln University and earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Daryl was a loving and devoted father and he enjoyed spending every minute with his children. He was a member of the United Sportsmen’s Club and he enjoyed competitive shooting. He was a passionate duck hunter and took pride in building several duck boats over the years. He looked forward all year to returning to Chillicothe for duck season with his brother and nephews. If you couldn’t find Daryl on the golf course or riding his beloved Indian motorcycle, you might find him watching a KC Royals, St. Louis Cardinals or KC Chiefs game while enjoying a fine cigar. He always looked forward to “Balentine’s Day” and staying up all night on Christmas Eve to ensure Christmas mornings were magical. Daryl and his family owned and operated a local well-known pie shop where he enjoyed making and baking his favorite pies, talking with customers and working side-by-side with his family every day.
Survivors include his children, Riley and Reagan Albertson of the home; stepson, Caleb Malone of Springfield; the mother of his children, Cary Markley; sister, Brenda Rardon of Chillicothe; sister-in-law, Sharon Albertson of Chillicothe; sister-in-law, Courtney (Seth) Frerking of Columbia; mother-in-law, Jeannine Esposito of Jefferson City; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ron and Mic Hopson of Rolla; several nieces and nephews and grandpup, Gus. Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Oh the memories we will cherish of our beloved Big D. The parties we would have on our deck or in your garage, singing karaoke, smoking cigars, and enjoying each other’s company. How proud you were of your Indian motorcycle! You looked bad ass riding it too, my friend! Taken from us way too soon, but your pain has finally ended. May you rest in eternal peace. We will miss you, our friend. We will forever be grateful for our friendship and memories. To Cary, Reagan and Riley, we will always be here for you and love you very much.

  2. Really sorry to hear about the loss of Daryl. May the Blessings be upon Daryl’s family and friends. I have some great memories of Daryl.
Daryl, Cary, their former neighbors, and their entire group have and for some reason still 😊 are always so welcoming to our family.
Peace be with you Cary, kids, family and friends.
I will forever have great memories of Daryl.
