David Ellis Abel, 63, of Columbia, MO, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at University Hospital and Clinics, Columbia. He was born on July 15, 1943, in Los Angeles, CA, the son of Darrell Marshall and Mildred Alice Latimer Abel. He was a 1960 graduate of Tunas, MO, High School, and a 1964 graduate of the University of Missouri. He retired in 1989 as an accountant with the Columbia Housing Authority where he was employed for twenty-four years. Survivors include two sons, Sean J. Abel, Weed, CA; and Shane D. Abel, St. Joseph, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Duane Leon Abel. Private family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the Scholarship Fund at the University of Missouri School of Business. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
