David “Dave” Theodore Rehagen, 83, of Jefferson City, died Friday June 5, 2026, surrounded by his family at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Born March 26, 1943, the last of 8 children born to John and Matilda (Lindenbush) Rehagen in St. Anthony, MO.  He attended elementary school in St. Anthony and graduated high school in St. Elizabeth.  He was baptized, received First Holy Communion and confirmed at St. Anthony of Padua Parish in St. Anthony, Missouri where he served as an alter boy at daily Mass.

Dave enlisted in the United States Air Force right out of high school.  After training, he spent his remaining time in Germany.  He was an avid bowler in Germany and afterward back home.

He was united in marriage to Mary Agnes Kempker on May 7, 1966, at Our Lady of the Snows Parish, Mary’s Home, Missouri.

Dave worked as his own contracted flooring installer for 58 years with the majority at Jefferson City Distributors.  He and Mary made their home in Jefferson City in 1966 and began their parish membership at the Proto Cathedral of St. Peter.  He was a member of the Men’s Holy Name Society, Eucharistic Adoration, and helped with funeral lunches.

He is survived by his wife; Mary Agnes, Jefferson City; his children, Michelle Agnes Rodemeyer (Todd) of Holts Summit, MO;  Sherry Bernadette Peppers (Gil) of Live Oak, FL; and Kyle David Rehagen (Christy) of Boonville, MO; eight grandchildren, Luke Rehagen, Will Rehagen, Maggie Rehagen, Justin Rodemeyer, Jacob Rodemeyer, Trey Peppers, Tara Driver, Tamra Abercrombie; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Juliann Rehagen, Jefferson City; and numerous extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings Leonard (Ruth Ann) Rehagen, Alverna (Herman) Buechter, Norbert (Catherine) Rehagen, Bernice (Harry) Schulte, Edward (Rosemary) Rehagen, Arnold Rehagen and James (Carolyn) Rehagen.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City with a rosary recited at 3:15 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Proto Cathedral of St. Peter with the Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki, VG officiating.

Entombment with military honors will be in Resurrection Catholic Mausoleum.

Memorial donations are suggested to Masses or to Proto Cathedral of St. Peter.
