Deborah Thompson

Deborah Thompson, 68, of Jefferson City passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born September 7, 1956 to the late Virgil Kempker and Rose (Veit) Kempker of Westphalia. Deborah grew up in Folk and was a 1974 graduate of Fatima High School. Upon graduation she began working at Florsheim Shoes exclusively selling to the Sears Department Store account. In 2003 Deborah was employed by the Missouri Department of Revenue in the Corporate Tax department. After 17 years of service, she retired in 2020.
On April 19, 1986 Deborah married Bob Thompson in Jefferson City. They raised two daughters, Holly and Ivy in their Russellville home. In her free time, Deborah enjoyed crocheting, bowling, solving picture puzzles and baking delicious desserts for her family.
Survivors include her mother, Rose of Westphalia; four grandchildren, Ceaira Thompson of Kansas City, MO, Shyanne Kempker-Miller of Loose Creek, Aidan McMullin of Jefferson City, Brady McMullin of Bland; step daughter, Holly Thompson of Jefferson City; six siblings, Diane (Raymond) Morgan of Folk, David Kempker of Folk, Dwayne (Tanya) Kempker of Folk, Doris West of Freeburg, Donna Kesel of Folk and Delores “Lynn” Kempker of Folk. Deborah was further preceded in death by her husband, Bob; daughter, Ivy Kempker; twin great grandsons, Alex Paul and Taylor Lee Patten; brother, Daniel Kempker and two sisters, Darlene Welschmeyer and Dawn Ramos.
Visitation will be Monday, March 17, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Trimble Funeral Homes-Westphalia. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Folk. Reverend Dylan Schrader will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery at a later date.

Sorry to hear about Debbie. We had such great times during the years at Florsheim! It wasn’t about the work, it was about the laughs, the fun and the friendships! She will be missed!
