Delbert Ray Bias, 61, of Jefferson City, died Friday, September 19, 2008, at University Hospital and Clinics, Columbia. He was born on March 5, 1947, in Jefferson City, the son of Clellan Mansur and Dorothy M. Zumwalt Bias. His mother survives in Jefferson City. He was married on June 15, 1979, in Jefferson City to Mary Charlene Fechtel who survives at the home. A 1966 graduate of Helias High School, Mr. Bias was a custodian for more than ten years at St. Joseph Catholic School, and was employed part-time with Fechtel Beverage. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and Purple Heart recipient from his service during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral; the Cathedral Association; Dan C. Coppin Fourth Degree Assembly, Knights of Columbus; Veterans of Foreign Wars; and Marine Corps League Central Missouri Detachment. Other survivors include sisters, Joyce Brust, Valley Park, Mo.; Cyndi Summers, Linn, Mo.; Brenda Miranda, Jefferson City; and Connie Bias, New Mexico; brothers, Gail Bias, Columbia, Mo.; and Keith Bias, Jefferson City; and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph with the Rev. Dennis J. Meyer officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21st, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 5 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Cathedral of Saint Joseph Building Fund, 2305 W.
