Dennis John Lueckenotte, 65, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, November 15, 2024, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born February 14, 1959, in Hannibal, the son of John Frank and Margaret Ann (Roush) Lueckenotte.
A 1977 graduate of Cole R-1 in Russellville.
He was united in marriage on May 19, 1984, St. Joseph Catholic Church to Vickie Heckman who survives of the home.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Dennis grew up working in the grocery store owned by his mom and dad. He continued working in retail at Walz Hardware, Clark Oil, Check Office Equipment, and as a Sales Manager at Staples. For the last 10 years, he was employed with the Diocese of Jefferson City as facilities manager at the catholic center and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Dennis was also a mobile DJ for over 25 years with his service, DJ the DeeJay and Capital Sound.
A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, he enjoyed Cardinals baseball, Blues Hockey, riding his Harley, listening to music, playing with his grandkids and bowling. Dennis was inducted into the MO Capital Area USBC Hall of Fame in 2009. He won several awards including team city champion twice (2010 and 2012), high average awards; eight 300 games, two 800 series and other league awards. He was most proud of winning the Missouri State Family Tournament Championship with his son Jonathan. The win earned them an all-expenses paid trip to the national finals in Minnesota where they placed 10th out of 41 teams from 39 other states and 2 countries. He was also a fourth degree Knights of Columbus and a member of the Knights on Bikes, and also a life member of the Harley Owners Group.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie; three children, Jessica (Tony) Krenning, Centertown, Jonathan (Brittany) Lueckenotte, Portland, Missouri and Balin Lueckenotte, Jefferson City; six grandchildren, Layla Krenning, Lucy Krenning, Anthony Krenning, Layne Lueckenotte, Maverick Lueckenotte and Makenna Lueckenotte; one sister, Barbara Ann (Jerry) Pointer, Holts Summitt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one nephew, Mitchell Pointer.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, November 22, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Matthew J. Flatley officiating.
Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society or to American Diabetes Association.

Dennis fought a tough battle, but the good Lord saw fit to relieve him of his pain. Sympathy to his family.
