Diane Cecilia Stroessner, 76, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Boone Hospital Center.

She was born January 2, 1948, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Ray and Juliana (Tappel) Martin.

A 1966 graduate of Helias Catholic High School, Diane attended Lincoln University and received her bachelor’s degree in education.

She was united in marriage on June 24, 1972, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church to William Andrew Stroessner who survives of the home.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Diane began her teaching career at Normandy Elementary School, St. Louis. She then taught at Immaculate Conception School followed by substitute teaching at local parochial schools. She continued the bulk of her teaching career at Euguene Elementary School where she was a fifth grade and title I teacher until retiring in 2008.

Diane enjoyed traveling with her family, teaching William how to cook, painting, crossword puzzles, watching British TV shows, working in the yard and flower beds, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, William; four children, Emily (Todd) Donaldson, Jefferson City, Jeffrey (Shelly) Stroessner, Louisburg, Kansas, Julie (Andy) McCaskill, Portland, Oregan, Phillip (Lacy) Stroessner, Columbia; ten grandchildren, Cole and Will Donaldson, Jane, Lucy, and Mary Stroessner, Eva and Hunter McCaskill, Addie, Ingrid, and Margot Stroessner; siblings, Wayne (Jan) Martin, Lee’s Summit, David (Dolores) Martin, Jefferson City, Mary (Mark) Schaefer, Jefferson City, Ruth (Leonard) Wansing, Vienna, Ron Martin, Jefferson City, Gloria (Rick) Beitler, Shawnee, Kansas, Arlene (Brad) Boese, Northmoor, John Martin, Smithville, Sheila (Mark) Lenson, Overland Park, Kansas and Celeste (Alvin) Keilholz, Jefferson City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Joseph Martin.

Visitation will be 4:30-7 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with a prayer service at 4 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Matthew J. Flatley officiating.

Burial will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Caring Hearts & Hands of Columbia or to Helias Catholic High School.
