Dolores Catherine Knernschield

She was born on January 25, 1929, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late Joseph Anthony and Cecelia Helen (Cortvrient) Distler.
She was married on May 18, 1974, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jefferson City to Leroy R. Knernschield, who preceded her in death on December 15, 2018.
She was a 1947 graduate of St. Peter High School.
Dolores worked as an accountant at Montgomery Wards and Company and in earlier years as an accountant for Scruggs Lumbar Company.
She was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church.
She loved flower gardening and walking her dog, “Shep.”
Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Mary Louise Distler, Jefferson City; and Eve Mae Distler, Jefferson City; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy; two sisters, Agnes (Edward) Klein and Pauline Distler; and three brothers, Louis Distler, Robert (Ernestine) Distler, and Leroy Distler.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday, February 18, 2022, at St. Martin Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. at St. Martin Catholic Church with the Rev. Jason T. Doke officiating.
Burial will be in St. Martin Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to St. Martin Catholic Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Delores and Leroy, were my neighbors for over 21 years. Neighbors like them, are once in a lifetime. They will be sadly missed.
