Donald Eugene Lane, Sr., 71, of Taos, died Monday, July 9, 2007 at St. Marys Health Center. He was born September 13, 1935 in Jefferson City, the son of Melvin and Ruth Waggoner Lane. On September 4, 1954, in Jefferson City, he married Betty Ann Horstdaniel, who survives at the home. Don worked for various central Missouri floor covering contractors for many years. Later in life he worked for the Department of Social Services-Division of General Services. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. An avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed raising and training hunting dogs that he would take on many of his hunting trips. Don also trained and showed horses. Other survivors include: two sons and their wives, Donald Eugene Lane, Jr. and wife Sally, Taos; Mark Edward Lane and wife Marla, Loose Creek; and three grandchildren, Michael Lane, Christopher Lane, and Rebecca Lane. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kathy Lane; a son, Joseph Lane; and a step-brother, Timothy ODonnell. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2007, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with the Rev. Roberto Ike officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer services at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, 2413 Hyde Park Road, Jefferson City, MO 65109; or American Diabetes Association, 1944-A East Sunshine, Springfield, MO 65804.
