Donald Richard Walther, 82, of Jefferson City, MO, died Wednesday, Mar. 16, 2005, at Heisinger Lutheran Home. He was born on Nov. 7, 1922 in Jefferson City, the son of Wilbur Richard and Christine Marie Bruegging Walther. He was married on Oct. 23, 1950 in Jefferson City to Norma Lee Holder who died on Dec. 10, 1994. A graduate of St. Peter High School, Mr. Walther served in the Navy during World War II and in the Korean Conflict. He was a highway designer with the Missouri Department of Transportation for thirty-five years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, the Genealogical Society, and spent many hours volunteering for the Missouri State Archives. Survivors include one son and a daughter-in-law, James D. and Debby Walther, Olathe, KS; one daughter and a son-in-law, Donna R. and Roger Schrimph, Wardsville; six grandchildren, Brad Schrimpf, Ryan Schrimpf, Nicholas Schrimpf, Aaron Schrimpf, Brent Walther and Brooke Walther; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Schrimpf, Mason Schrimpf, and Jacob Schrimpf; and one brother, Wilbur H. Walther, Vienna, VA. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jerome A. Walther and one sister, Bette Anne Frye. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Mar. 19, 2005, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. James M. Smith officiating. Entombment with full military honors will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, Mar. 18th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Jefferson City and Mid-Missouri, 601 E.
