Donna Ann Edmonson, age 67, of Jefferson City, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Born on March 18, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois, Donna was the youngest daughter of James Leonard and Florence Louise (Curtis) Stewart.
She was united in marriage on September 6, 1980, in Chicago, IL to Wiley Edmonson who survives at the home. In 1980 they moved to Jefferson City, MO which they have called home for more than 43 years.
Donna worked 19 years for the Missouri Department of Revenue as a taxation clerk until her well-earned retirement in 1999.
She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Jefferson City. Donna found profound joy in crafting custom jewelry and creating lasting memories with her family. She lived a remarkable life of sacrifice and unwavering devotion to her children and grandchildren. Her legacy is love.
Survivors include her husband, Wiley Edmonson, Jefferson City; two daughters, Alicia Edmonson, Jefferson City; Jemese (Kenneth) Drewery, Columbia, MO; six grandchildren, Kyan Edmonson, Elias Edmonson, Maya Edmonson, Naomi Edmonson, Amara Drewery, Malia Drewery; four siblings, Toni Warren, Chicago, IL; Rochelle Tillman, Chicago, IL; Lawrence Stewart, Augusta, GA; James Stewart, Jr., Bloomington, IN; and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 12 Noon on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Second Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 12 Noon with Rev. Cornell S. Sudduth, Sr. officiating.
Burial will be in Longview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the St. Louis Children’s Hospital Foundation.

I worked in taxation but not the same section as Donna. I was saddened to see she had past. But it made me think of her & that made me smile as we shared the gifted of laughter. May God comfort her family & friends. May she RIP.

To Wally and family. I am sadden and sorry of the loss of Donna and void it will leave in your family lives and those who love her. She will be missed. I pray for comfort, peace and strength as God has promised us. Wally, You Donna and I go way back in the years as friends and neighbors. We have shared many happy memories we all cherish. When I heard of Donna’s passing I was in shock. Donna and I worked and often had lunch together. She was Avery dear friend and forever on my mind. I am so sorry for your loss and I sincerely pray that you, the girls and grandkids will be comforted and protected in God’s loving embrace. Sorry that I was unable to attend her homecoming celebration. Much love to you and the family.
