DORIS DARLENE JERDEN

Doris Darlene Jerden, 81, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully Monday, November 23, 2009, at Oak Tree Villas surrounded by her family.
She was born on July 7, 1928, in Oak Hill, Mo, the daughter of the late William and Lydia Tayloe Rutz. She was united in marriage on February 11, 1950, in Junction City, Ks, to James O. Jerden. Mrs. Jerden retired from St. Marys Health Center after many years of service in Dietary Management. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph. She had a deep and abiding love for her family and her greatest joy in life was being surrounded by them whatever the occasion.
A beloved wife for 59 years to James O. Jerden; loving mother to Brenda (Mike) Shelton, Chesterfield, Mo; Steve Jerden, St. Louis; Craig (Melody) Jerden, Merriam, Ks; Jane (Roger) Dudenhoeffer, Jefferson City; loving grandmother to Scott, Brian, Jessi, Stephanie, Chris, Jamie, Ashton, Trent; and a loving great-grandmother to Mia. She is also survived by a sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with the Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum. Visitation will be 9-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Cathedral of St. Joseph, 2305 West Main Street, Jefferson City, Mo 65109.
