Doris May Olsen, 83, of Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Timbers Assisted Living.

She was born on April 5, 1935, in Cook County, the daughter of George Laverne and Ethel Louise (Talbott) Ifland.

On June 21, 1952, Doris married Clifford Charles Olsen in Cook County, who preceded her in death on June 21, 1986.

Over her career, Doris worked for the Missouri Department of Revenue; Milo Walz; and Camelot Gifts.

She was a member of the Wesley Methodist Church; Victoria Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star; and the Jane Randolph Chapter of the DAR.

Survivors include four sons, Keith (Victoria) Olsen; Clifford (Andrea) Olsen; Brett Olsen; Eric Olsen; four siblings, Jimmy (Jacquelyn) Ifland; Georgia (Dennis) Hess; George (Gee) Ifland; Sandy Ifland; eight grandchildren, Michael Olsen, Daniel Olsen, Tony Brite, Christopher Brite, Sean Brite, Johanna Henry, Justin Lake, Ashley Lake; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford; daughter-in-law, Jean Olsen; a grandson, Toby Olsen; and a sister, Shirley Haile.

Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019, at Wesley Methodist Church with an Eastern Star Service at 10:45 a.m.

A Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019, at Wesley Methodist Church with the Rev. John Kerr officiating.

Memorials are suggested to the Doris Olsen Anniversary Celebration Fund for the upcoming Cole County American 250th Anniversary Commission. She was very involved in 1976 in Russellville and Cole County Bicentennial celebrations and wanted this to be for the 2026 celebration.
