Dorothy Celeste Ehrhardt, 92, of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Heisinger Bluffs.

She was born on January 26, 1931, on the family farm in Honey Creek, Missouri, the daughter of August and Dora (Propst) Engelbrecht.

She was married on May 24, 1953, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Honey Creek to Alfred Arthur Ehrhardt who preceded her in death on July 29, 2010.  Dorothy and Alfred enjoyed traveling and seeing different scenery.  Branson was among their favorites during the Christmas season.

Dorothy worked for the State of Missouri for fifteen years answering phones, data entry, and typing and filing records in the retirement sector.  She spent most of her time as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson City.  Dorothy enjoyed crocheting and quilting, spending time with her grandchildren, Georgia and James Ehrhardt, tending to her yard and garden, watching the Hallmark channel around Christmas time and the nightly news.

Survivors include her son, Shawn (Sandy) Ehrhardt, Russellville; two grandchildren, Georgia Ehrhardt and James Ehrhardt; and one sister, Ruby Kautsch, Russellville and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Henry Lyman Ehrhardt; and six siblings, Leona Hoelscher, Freda Benne, Susie Schnieders, Marie Loesch, Adam Engelbrecht, and Tony Engelbrecht.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City.

Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Samuel Powell officiating.

Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Memorial donations are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or Calvary Lutheran High School.

  1. Shawn you have my sympathy, My deceased brother in law Brent Crane and I tore down an old barn on the farm. I have some of the boards lining my basement walls. That was 40 plus years ago . God bless you and your family.
