Dorothy Lee Meyer, 81, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, January 5, 2008, at Autumn Meadows Skilled Care. She was born on April 26, 1926, in Jefferson City the daughter of Arthur Frederick and Arizona Marie Goff Speckhals. She was married on September 5, 1944, in Jefferson City to Herbert John Meyer who survives at the home. Mrs. Meyer worked for the Missouri Public Expenditure Survey and then worked for 27 years with the Missouri State Chamber of Commerce until her retirement in 1987. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Eagles 2693. She enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards, and sitting around the camp fire with her friends. Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Joyce M. and Robert Jurd, Linn; one son and daughter-in-law, John Dennis and Marian Meyer, Waleska, GA; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Cortvrient; Michael Jurd; Rebecca Jurd; Christopher Jurd; David Jurd; Jason Meyer; Amy Meyer; and Taylor Meyer; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Rex J. White; and a brother, Arthur F. Speckhals Jr. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Brendan P. Doyle officiating. Burial will be in Hawthorne Memorial Gardens.
