She was born in Wainright, MO to William James and Martha Ann Bush Reynolds. She was married on December 5, 1937 in Jefferson City to E'Thelbert Smith who died December 10, 1988. Survivors include two daugthers, Betty M. Littlejohn, Kansas City; and Olivia A. Smith, Grandview; four sons, William R. Smith, Columbia; and Thelbert C. Smith, Melvin R. Smith, and Howard F. Smith, all of Jefferson City; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Logan, Jefferson City. A homemaker, she was a member of Second Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Group; Heroines of Jericho; and Jefferson City Chapter Order of Eastern Star.
