I send my condolences to Dennis and Janet and their families. Dorothy is one of the sweetest ladies I have ever known. When she won a cruise to the Western Caribbean, I asked her if it would be ok if I were to go on the cruise. She was happy that I was going. We had the best time visiting the ports and doing things on the cruise ship. She was a hit with the staff that took care of us. It will be one of my most memorable vacations. We love and miss you Dorothy❤️ Jane, Elizabeth, Scott and Cousin Finley
I know the Strader family from growing up in Jefferson City. The Strader family and the Kruse family spent many hours together particularly on New Year’s Day. The Strader family came to our house to watch the Rose Bowl Parade – we had a color TV – and the ensuing football games all day. After moving to the San Francisco Bay Area, I would sometimes talk with Dorothy whenever I went to visit my mother who continued to live in JC. She and Carl attended the memorial service for my mother in 2005. After that whenever I came to JC for a JCHS class of ’64 reunion I would “look her up”. ONce she took my wife and I out for lunch. She was a joy to be around and was such a wonderful person. We had good talks many times in my adult life. Dennis and Janet I send you my sincere condolences and hope the memories of you Mom continue to inform your grieve with love and compassion.
I worked with Dorothy at Employment Security in the late seventies. I will never forget what a dear she was. Later I occasionally saw her at Aldis and at her accountant’s office where I worked part time. Dennis was always so good to help her. I am saddened by her death, but glad for her long life and that she was able to be in her home at the end. Loved her beautiful white hair. My condolences to her family. Linda Hope
I always enjoyed seeing Dorothy at First Methodist Church where she was a faithful member. Dorothy was a beautiful lady inside and out. She loved fresh cranberry salad and me to make it for her one holiday. I purchased her Better Homes and Garden at her estate sale. She was glad I had it, and we discussed all the important notes she include. I feel blessed to have known Dorothy. My sympathy to the family. Nancy Samp
