Elizabeth S. "Betty" Kramer, age 93, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, February 10, 2013, at Heisinger Bluffs Care Center in Jefferson City, Missouri. She was born on September 27, 1919, in St. Thomas, Mo., the daughter of Louis Gerling and Theresia Schmidt Gerling. She was married on May 20, 1947, in Jefferson City, to Cletus Joseph "Clete" Kramer, who preceded her in death on July 3, 2005. Mrs. Kramer attended St. Thomas School in St. Thomas, MO. She was employed by Diemler Grocery and Caf, P & C Grocery, and Montgomery Ward. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Peter Altar Sodality, a 65 year member of the Daughters of Isabella (Glennon Circle), a member of the Sew n' Sews Quilters, Western Catholic Union, Knights of Columbus Helias Council No. 1054 Ladies Auxiliary, and Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree Dan C. Coppin Assembly Ladies Auxiliary. Betty was a stay-at-home mom and was active in both the Boy and Girl Scouts along with her children. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, gardening, fishing, playing cards and enjoying her family and friends. Survivors include: three sons, John L. "Jack" Kramer, Jefferson City, MO; Roger L. Kramer, St. Louis, MO; and Charles J. "Chuck" Kramer and wife Theresa, Jefferson City, MO; one daughter, Mary Joan Markway and husband Jude, Wardsville, MO; seven grandsons, Gabe Markway and wife, Cindy; and Levi Markway, all of Wardsville, MO; Luke Markway and wife, Myrilla of Eugene, MO; Ross Kramer and Ryan Kramer of St. Louis, MO; Matt Kramer and wife, Jessie of Jamestown, MO; Sam Kramer of Carbondale, IL; one granddaughter, Sarah Kramer of Jefferson City, MO; one great grandson, Bridger Markway of Wardsville, MO; and one great granddaughter, Claire Ann Marie Markway of Eugene, MO. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Margaret Schenewerk of Columbia, IL, and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Michael B. Gerling. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Gregory C. Meystrik officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.   7. My thoughts are with all of you. It seems now that all of the “old neighbors” are gone…but they remain in our hearts and memories. Your mom was a wonderful person and a loving mother. She will be watching over you still.
