Elmer Joseph Frank, 81, of Wardsville, was born on August 2, 1922 in Jefferson City, MO, the son of Louis Xavier Frank and Margaret Henke Frank. He was married on October 15, 1949 in Westphalia, MO to Mary Bernadine Rehagen who survives at the home. Other survivors include six sons and their wives, Stephen and Jane Frank, Thomas and Deborah Frank, and Harold and Lisa Frank, all of Jefferson City; Richard and Pamela Frank, and Timothy and Laura Frank, all of Fredericksburg, Virginia; Gerold and Susan Frank, Lake Villa, Illinois; seven daughters and their husbands, Madalynn and John Bell, Deborah and Stephen Cheshire, and Terese Salamone, all of Jefferson City; Nancy and Gary Schneider, Blue Springs, MO; Susan and Jon Danner, St. Charles, MO; Gloria and Marc Wolfe, Shawnee, Kansas; and Christy and Shaun Miller, Olathe, Kansas; forty grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; and one brother, Edgar C. Frank, Linn, MO. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Joseph Frank; two brothers, Norbert H. Frank and William W. Frank; and sister, Agnes Marie Frank. He was a Past Commandant of the Marine Corps League, Central Missouri Detachment; Past President of the Immaculate Conception Holy Name Society; and Past President of the Jefferson City Veterans Council. He was a life member of the Marine Corps League, Central Missouri Detachment; Roscoe Enloe Post No. 5 of the American Legion; Roy Sone Post No. 1003 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars; and Dan C. Coppin Fourth Degree Assembly, Knights of Columbus. Mr. Frank was active in Boy Scouts of America for many years and was a recipient of the St. George Award. He and his wife hold the distinction of having graduated the most number of children in one family from Helias High School. Elmer was a loving husband, caring father, and devoted friend. He was a hard-working, fun-loving, faithful, and honest man whose love, patience, and guidance have shaped the lives of many. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Patrick L. Pierceall officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Helias Foundation Scholarship Fund in the name of Elmer J. Mr. Frank was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II in the South Pacific, serving 38 months before being discharged as a Staff Sergeant. He was employed with Reed Wheat Ranch, Condon, Oregon, from 1946 to 1947; with the United States Corps of Engineers from 1947 to 1948; was founder and co-owner of Midwest Building Block Company from 1948 until his retirement in 1983; and was a funeral assistant with Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home for several years during his retirement. He served as Cole County Treasuer from 1984 to 1996. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Wardsville; Holy Name Society; Over-fifty Club; Jefferson City Diocesan Cursillio; Missouri State Democratic Party; Jefferson City Democratic Club of Cole County; St. Marys Medical Center Auxiliary; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 2693; Cosmopolitan Club; Cole County Sheriff's Auxiliary; East-Side Betterment Association; Helias Athletic Boosters; Jefferson City Host Lions Club; Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce; Labor Union Local 662; Missouri County Treasurers Association; and was a Six-gallon Red Cross Blood Donor.
