Ethelyn Marie Vieth, 80, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, at St. Marys Health Center. She was born on Dec. 13, 1925 in Hermann, MO, the daughter of Carl William and Evaline Grace Kemper Bascom. She was married on May 10, 1947 in St. Louis to Harold Henry Vieth who died on July 31, 2003. Mrs. Vieth was employed as a cashier with the former Holsum Bakery and Osco Drug Store. She was a member of Central United Church of Christ where she was active with the Eleventh Circle and Womens Fellowship. The heart and soul of her family, she loved to cook especially fried chicken and homemade pies. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Norry Shahangian, Jefferson City; three grandchildren, Jason Shahangian, Tara Shahangian, and Beth Oetting and her husband, Mark, all of Jefferson City; three great-grandchildren, Clayton Oetting, Ana Henderson, and Olivia Henderson; and one sister, Pearl Weirich, Holts Summit. She was preceded in death by one son, Louis Lee Vieth; and one brother, Chester Bascom. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, at Central United Church of Christ with the Rev. Stephen H. Buchholz officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 pm. Wednesday, Sept. 27th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
