Floretta Suzanna Bruemmer Scheppers, 95, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, August 1, 2009, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center. She was born on January 8, 1914, in Jefferson City, the daughter of John Karl and Anna Mary Lutz Brauner. She was united in marriage on June 21, 1938, in Jefferson City, to Ralph Henry Bruemmer who preceded her in death on October 10, 1980. On September 5, 1981, in Wardsville, she married Joseph Clemon Scheppers who preceded her in death on January 17, 1983. A homemaker and dairy farmer all her life, Floretta was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Ladies Sodality, and the Over-Fifty Club. She loved to quilt and play cards. Survivors include: four daughters and three sons-in-law, Gloria Abbott; Sharon and Mitch Massman; Doris and Albert Toebben, all of Wardsville; Beverly and John McCasland, Jefferson City; one son and daughter-in-law, Roger “Rocky” and Grace Bruemmer, Wardsville; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; 19 step-great grandchildren, and one sister, Caroline Kraus, Jefferson City. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; son-in-law, Robert Abbott; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elsie Heimericks and Emma Kroll; and six brothers, Clarence, Lester, Louis, Andrew, John, and Hubert Brauner. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2009, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with the Rev. Gregory C. Meystrik officiating. Burial will be in the St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
