Floyd Jay Schrock, 75, of Jefferson City peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born August 21, 1945 in Los Angeles, CA to the late Harry and Mabel (Schulte) Schrock. After graduating from William Hart High School, Newhall, CA Floyd was drafted into the U.S. Army serving in Germany during the Vietnam War. On April 11, 1967, Floyd married Maria Brassett in Las Vegas, NV. She preceded him in death on June 6, 1996. On June 22, 2002, he married Judith Coyle in Halfmoon, NY. Floyd and Judith moved to Jefferson City where Floyd was a skilled carpenter working on many different construction sites throughout his career.

Floyd Jay Schrock was one of the most amazing, sweetest, kindest, giving humans in the world. His hobbies and interests included spending time with his family, building and restoration projects, traveling many miles each year, listening to books on tape, helping at the food bank, and watching football, especially cheering on his favorite team the Kansas City Chiefs.

Floyd is survived by his wife Judith of Jefferson City, two daughters Laura (William) Caisse of Las Vegas, Erica (Brian) Wene of Jefferson City, two step-daughters Christina Gray of Lafayette, LA and Tamara Gray of Mechanicville, NY, four grandchildren, Garrett (Krystle) Nickels, Spencer (Janie) Nickels, Tanner (Bailey) Nickels, Kayla Wene and her fiancé, seven great- grandchildren Hunter, Haylee, Bentley, Breelyn, Bryson, Allie and Blake, two brothers Richard (Melanie ) Schrock of Riverton, WY and Jack Schrock of Saugus, CA, mother in-law Patricia Brassett and brother in-law William Brassett of Las Vegas, sister in-law Barbara (Ed) Aster of NZ, niece Jackie Cooksey of Saugus, CA, niece Diane Vassos and nephews Steven and Paul Schrock of Riverton, WY. He was preceded in death by his first wife-Maria, grandson- Jerome Nickels, twin sister- Sharon Schrock Moody, and sister-in-law- Anne Schrock.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be directed in Floyd Jay Schrock’s name to the Jefferson City Animal Shelter, 2308 Hyde Park Rd, Jefferson City, MO 65109.

  2. Remember fondly all of Judy and Jay’s visits to our home on Centerfield Rd. We are so sorry to just hear of Jay’s passing. He was such a great guy. He always wanted to help mom, Betty Mehaffie, his Aunt Betty around the house when he visited. He had such a kind spirit and lots of energy. Sleep well, my dear cousin.
