Genevieve Louise Wade, 81, of Jefferson City, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009, at her residence. She was born on June 18, 1928, in Sullivan, Mo., the daughter of the late Raymond and Gladys Bray Copeland. She was married on May 5, 1978, in Belle, Mo. to Thomas John Wade who survives at the home. Mrs. Wade attended Sullivan High School and lived in Belle until 1986 when she and her husband moved to Brazito, Mo. to fulfill her dream to move back to a farm. She grew up in Paydown, Mo., where her heart always remained. She owned and operated the Belle Coffee Shop in the early 1960’s and was well-known by many of the teenagers who hung out there. She loved them all. She was employed for several years as an underwriter with the Columbia Insurance Group until retiring in 2003. A member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Mrs. Wade enjoyed traveling to the mountains of Colorado and historic Charleston, S.C. She was an avid horsewoman who also liked following her husband around the golf course. Other survivors include two daughters, Gloria (Larry) Davis, St. James, Mo.; and Kathy Hughes, Lee’s Summit, Mo.; two sons, Gene (Linda) Record, Union, Mo.; and Kenny Sullinger, Jr., Owensville, Mo.; one step-son, John Wade, Carmel, Ind.; sixteen grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Geneva (Leroy) Oram, New Llano, La.; and Jeanette (Robert) Moss, Spring Bluff, Mo.; and one aunt, Ethelyn Ammerman, Owensville, Mo. She was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Patrick Record; and an uncle, Wilton Bray. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. David Veit and the Rev. Jimmie Ray Dace officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6 p.m. Additional visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28th, at Sassman’s Funeral Service, Belle, Mo. Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29th, in Union Hill Cemetery in Maries County. Memorials are suggested to the Jefferson City Animal Shelter, 919 E. Miller St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.
