George M. Orscheln, 89, of Jefferson City, died on Friday, May 4, 2007, at St. Marys Health Center. He was born on Sept. 21, 1917, in Loose Creek, MO, the son of William and Katherine Trecker Orscheln. Mr. Orscheln was married on June 30, 1948, in Jefferson City, to Anna A. Niekamp who survives at the home. He was employed as a steam fireman for the Missouri Department of Corrections and in earlier years for St. Marys Health Center, retiring in 1987 after more than forty-one years. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church; Holy Name Society; and the Association of Missouri Retired State Employees. Other survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Harry and Kathryn Orscheln, Milan, MI; one daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Raymond Catlett, Collinsville, IL, five grandchildren, Alan Catlett, Rick Catlett, Nell Orscheln, Abby Orscheln, and Andrew Orscheln; one brother, Joseph Orscheln, Loose Creek; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Cora Muenks, Linn, and Angeline and Howard Lock, Westphalia. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Hugo Orscheln, Henry Orscheln, and Charles Orscheln; and five sisters, Bertha Backes, Irene Haslag, Gertrude Haslag, Luella Kliethermes, and Olivia Eickhoff. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2007, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Donardo S. Bermejo officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Sunday, May 6th at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. The prayer service will be at 6:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Vogelweid Learning Center, 314 W.
