Georgia Imalene Sanders, 85, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, February 27, 2010, at Jefferson Manor.
She was born on April 17, 1924, in Centralia, Il., the daughter of the late Willard Andrew and Mamie Susan Hoback Pflueger. She was married in 1942, in Lexington, Mo to Delbert Clevenger who preceded her in death. In 1945, she married Clarence Roy Greer in Salem, Il., who also preceded her in death. A homemaker all her life, she was a former member of the Columbia Oak Towers Facility where she was a member and past president of the Older Citizen Klub. Georgia was a direct descendant of Captain John Hounschel, Colonial Virginia War Militia.
Survivors include: five children, Roy (Julie) Clevenger, Metropolis, Il.; Neil (Linda) Greer, Clinton, Mo.; Mamie Susan Greer, Ellsnor, Mo.; Carl Greer, Riverside, Mo.; Carol Reynolds, Jefferson City; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Noawell Pflueger, Centralia, Il.; Doyl (Mary) Pflueger, Paducah, Ky.; Neal Pflueger, Ft. Sill, Ok.; and Everett (Louis) Pflueger. She was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Greer; two grandchildren; and one sister, Claudine Smith.
A family and friend gathering will be held from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Longview Cemetery with burial to follow. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Those wishing to email condolences to the family may do so at the www.dulletrimble.com website.
