GERALD LEROY YOUNG

Gerald LeRoy Young, 76, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at his residence. He was born on July 31, 1931, in Alhambra, Calif., the son of Henry Mulvaney and Margaret Landis Young. He was married on Dec. 14, 1978, in Loma Linda, Calif., to Florence Elaine Gile Stuckey who survives at the home. Mr. Young was a 1950 graduate of Alhambra High School and received a Master of Arts degree in 1974 from California State University in Los Angeles. He worked for a number of years in the printing business and also served as Adjunct Professor of Art at La Sierra University and Riverside Arts Center in Riverside Calif.; Atlantic Union College, South Lancaster, Mass.; and Worcester State College, Worcester, Mass. He greatly enjoyed painting. He served with the United States Air Force as an Airman First Class. Other survivors include one daughter, Linda Scheiffele, Farmington, Mo.; one son, Kenneth Young, Collinsville, Ill.; one step-daughter and her husband, Beth and Paul Mitnick, Plano, Texas; one step-son and his wife, Edwin and Sherie Stuckey, Cleveland, Tenn.; two granddaughters; one step-granddaughter; two great-grandsons; and one step-brother, Richard Landorf, Bend, Ore. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at Riverview Cemetery with Chaplain James Gearheart officiating.
