Glenda R. (Uffmann) Walker, 84, of Jefferson City, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at Heisinger Bluffs, in Jefferson City, Missouri.
She was born on July 13, 1934, in Washington, Missouri, a daughter of James and Velma (Holsehuh) Pate.
On June 14, 1952, she was married to George Uffmann and was a proud Navy wife for more than twenty years. She remarried on September 18, 1981, to John Walker.
Glenda attended Owensville High School and Seminole Junior College (Sanford, Florida) where she received her nursing degree.
She was employed at Charles E. Still Hospital, Memorial Hospital, St, Mary’s Hospital and the Algoa Correctional Center, all in Jefferson City. She worked as a recovery, intensive care and concentrated care nurse and as an In-Service Instructor at Charles E. Still Hospital. She retired in 1996 and used her very creative talents towards her hobbies of painting, ceramics, needlepoint and knitting. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, James Uffmann (Patty) of Jefferson City; sister, Jeannie Matthews of Ballwin, MO; grandson, Bryce Uffmann (Kim) of Columbia, MO; one niece, Robin Lundin of North Carolina and one nephew, Kurt Matthews of California.
Glenda was preceded in death by George Uffmann and John Walker and brother-in-law, Robert Matthews.
Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a grave side service to follow at Riverview Cemetery with Chaplain Jim Mueller officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial to Hospice and Palliative Care Compassus may be made.
