Haloran Harold Slauter, 67, passed away peacefully in his home in Jefferson City, Missouri on December 27, 2017.
Hal was the first of four children born to Harold and Rose (Schwan) Slauter on May 3, 1950, in Minot, ND. In 1959, they moved from Minot to Des Lacs, where Hal graduated from Des Lacs High School in 1968.
While living in Des Lacs, Hal served as an alter boy at St. Vincents Catholic Church, and played the drums for the school band. Hal continued with the drums in a country band in Minot for about 3 years as a young adult.
He worked at Magic City Lumber, Minot Public Schools, Pepsi, Frito Lay while living in Minot, and Jefferson Bank in Jefferson City for nineteen years.
Hal was united in marriage on August 10, 1989, in Las Vegas, NV to Mary B. Fox who survives at the home.
Hal is survived by his wife, Mary Slauter, Jefferson City; a son, Hal, Jr. of Winnemucca, NV; a daughter, Hiedi (Donny) Clark of Dickinson, ND; two step-children, James Sexey and Chris Sexey; 7 grandchildren; Madison, Emily, and Brendan Johnson; Julie, Nathan, Parker and Wade Slauter; six step-grandchildren, Vannessa, Amanda, Tyler, Aaron, Alan Eric; four great-grandchildren, Traeton, Ashton, Madison, McKenzie; a brother, Terry of Leeds, ND; two sisters, Marcia (Don) Jessen of Minot, ND and Ronda (Doug) Carlson of Des Lacs, ND; four nephews; Kelsey (Marsha) and Kinley (Sarah) Slauter, Doni (Jeannie) Jessen, and Justin (Becky) Barnett; four nieces; Karley (Mike) Kinney, Brandi (Joe) Joiner, Bridget (Patrick) Lein, and Sirena Barnett; and several great nieces and nephews, aunt, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Hal was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Rose; two step-children, Tammy Sexey and Kenny Sexey; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Private family services will be held.
