Harlan Otto Engelbrecht, 55, of Henley, died Sunday, November 15, 2009, at his residence.
He was born on January 13, 1954, in Tuscumbia, Mo., the son of the late Elmer William and Clara Margatetha Christiana Sommerer Engelbrecht. He was united in marriage on March 29, 1986, in Jefferson City, to Carla Jean Procter who survives at the home. Mr. Engelbrecht was a carpenter. He had been employed with United HRB and most recently University of Missouri Design & Construction. Harlan was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and Carpenters Local Union 945. He enjoyed woodworking, farming, gardening, grilling, and all sports. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Other survivors include: five children, Jason (Amanda) Engelbrecht, Jefferson City; Jeffrey Engelbrecht, Henley; Landree Engelbrecht, Lake Ozark; Nolan Engelbrecht, Henley; Hayden Engelbrecht, Henley; two grandchildren, Jaxon and Javon Engelbrecht; and seven sisters, Arlene (Jerry) Binkley, Jefferson City; Betty (Dennis) Schulte, Jefferson City; Bernice (John) Morris, Henley; Loretta (Delbert) Hogg, Jefferson City; Mary (Jim) Schilpp, Jefferson City; Norma (Dan) Hart, Henley; and Glenda (Don) Bax, Henley.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, November 19, 2009, at Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Towns and Rev. Ed Teal officiating. Burial will be in Honey Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
