Harold William Gentzsch, 89, of Jamestown, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018, at Heisinger Bluffs.
He was born March 13, 1929, in Sandy Hook, Missouri, the son of the late Harry Franklin and Anna (Kobel) Gentzsch.
He was a graduate of Jamestown High School.
He was united in marriage on September 10, 1950, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in California to Marie Elizabeth Willers who survives at the home.
Harold spent most of his life being the Sandy Hook farmer…literally and on the CB while hunting.
He was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church. He was a former member of the Jamestown School Board, Bottom Levy Board, and coached Little League Baseball. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, MU Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals, and especially loved to watch his children, grandchildren and all youngsters play sports. Harold loved and enjoyed his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Gentzsch, Jamestown; five children, David (Terri) Gentzsch, Jefferson City; Steven Gentzsch, Jamestown; Clarice Brown, Jamestown; Michael (Tracy) Gentzsch, Jamestown; Jean (Jeff) Padgett, Jefferson City; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Chris Gentzsch; and two brothers, Duward and Truman Gentzsch.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in California.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in California with Pastor Evandro Kopper officiating.
Burial will be in the Jamestown Cemetery.
