Helen Claire Graessle, 55, of Imperial, Missouri passed away Friday, January 8, 2016, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born November 19, 1960, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of John Charles "Chuck" and Sheila (McNeil) McMichael. She was united in marriage on October 2, 1982, in Jefferson City, to Daniel Henry Graessle who survives. Helen worked as a librarian for over 20 years including her last job with the Jefferson County Arnold Branch Library. Her love of books also lead to her enjoyment of history and writing. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Imperial, Missouri. Helen was proud to be featured in two movies as an extra. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband Daniel of 33 years; two children, Christopher Graessle, St. Louis; Katherine Graessle, St. Louis; her parents, Chuck and Sheila McMichael, Des Moines, Iowa; five siblings, Cathy McMichael, Des Moines, Iowa; Anne (Randy) VanLoo, Lohman; Amy (Mike) Brichetto, Clive, Iowa; David McMichael (Rick Casey), Des Moines, Iowa; Kevin (Tricia) McMichael, Eldridge, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; her mother-in-law, Lorraine Graessle, Hartsburg; three sisters-in-law, Barbara (Mark) Niekamp, Holts Summit; Karen (Craig) Strope, Hartsburg; Susan (Larry) Nodine, Jefferson City; and two brothers-in-law, Kent (Christy) Graessle, Hartsburg; Michael (Shelly) Graessle, St. Charles. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Carl Graessle. Visitation will be 4:30-7 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2016, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 15, 2016, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. John J. Schmitz officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Memorials are suggested to Siteman Cancer Center, CB1204, 7425 Forsyth, St. Louis, MO 63105.
