Irene Rosalie Verhoff Bollin, 92, of Westphalia, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, at Oak Tree Villas. She was born on Aug. 25, 1914 in Koelztown, the daughter of Dr. Conrad Stanislaus Verhoff and Anna Linnemann Verhoff. She was married on Aug. 31, 1957, in Levenworth, KS, to George A. Bollin, Sr., who died on Mar. 12, 1962. Mrs. Bollin graduated from St. Joseph High School, Westphalia, and Chillicothe Business College in 1936. She was employed with the Unemployment Compensation Commission, Jefferson City; the Federal Government Service at the Department of State, Washington, D. C. and later for the U.S. Forest Service, San Francisco, CA; Immigration & Naturalization Service, Kansas City, MO; Meat Inspection Division, Kansas City, KS; and the Veterans Administration Hospital, Leavenworth, KS. She retired Dec. 31, 1974, from the U. S. Saving Bonds Division, Treasury Department, Kansas City, MO. Mrs. Bollin was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia and the Old St. Patricks Catholic Church, Kansas City, MO. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and loved ballroom dancing and tennis. Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Charles L. and Nancy Ann Verhoff, Jefferson City; and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3rd, 2006, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, with the Rev. Philip M. Kane officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Westphalia. Visitation will be 11-1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3rd, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church, POB 116, Westphalia, MO 65085-0205.
