Irma Caroline Raithel, 84, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, June 15, 2008, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born on Oct. 9, 1923, in Wardsville, Mo., the daughter of Christian Frederick and Anna Katherine Schnieders Raithel. A graduate of St. Peter High School, Miss Raithel retired on Oct. 31, 1988, as a Data Entry Clerk with the Farm Bureau Town & Country Insurance Co. where she had been employed for thirty-five years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; St. Anns Sodality; and the Farm Bureau Retirees Association. Survivors include two sisters, Florence Ortmeyer and Gladys Strope, both of Jefferson City; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Cornelius Carney and Betty Raithel, Versailles, Mo.; and Marcelline Raithel, Jefferson City; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Herbert, Elbert, and Alvin Raithel; and three sisters, Alma Rackers; Margaret Landwehr; and Rosa Huhman. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2008, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Benjamin P. Nwosu officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 18th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, 2413 Hyde Park Road, Jefferson City, MO 65109.
