Isabel Sophia Jacobsen, 91, of Jefferson City, died Friday, May 23, 2008, at Golden Living Center. She was born on August 28, 1916, in Tipton, KS, the daughter of John Matthew and Barbara Pauly Smith. She was a 1933 graduate of Cawker City High School and attended Hayes Teachers College. Mrs. Jacobsen was a county school teacher in earlier years and later was the bookkeeper for Buschs Florist for forty-four years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Anns Sodality, Immaculata Club, Daughters of Isabella, Legion of Mary, and St. Marys Health Center Auxiliary. Other survivors include: one sister, Viola Smith, Jefferson City; and four nieces and eight nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Esther Jarnagin, Dorothy Summers, and Veronica Goetz; and three brothers, Edward Smith, John Smith and Nicholas Smith. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Benjamin Nwosu officiating. Burial will be Thursday, May 29, 2008 in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Cawker City, KS, at 2 p.m. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Endowment Fund,1206 E.
