He was born in Jefferson City to Oscar H. Weiler and Florence Caroline Distler Weiler. Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Jerome F. "Jerry" and Loretta Weiler, Jefferson City; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Audrey J. & Edward Huhmann, Centertown; and Margaret A. and William Kremer, Jefferson City; nine nephews; one niece; and fifteen great-nephews and great-nieces. Mr. Weiler was employed with Atlas Materials Company, Jefferson City, from 1952 to 1957; Homestead Hardware Company, Jefferson City, from 1957 to 1961; and served as Assistant Manager with Westlake Hardware Store in Jefferson City from 1962 until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral where he was active as a Communion Minister, Usher, Assistant Sacristan, and member of the Men's Association. He also assisted with scheduling various church ministries and did many wood-working projects for the church over the years. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 12992; American Association of Retired Persons with whom he served as Tax Aide for several years; and was a long-time blood donor with the American Red Cross. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Cathderal, 2305 W. Main Street, Jefferson City, MO 65109; or to Masses. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving for nineteen months at the U.S. Army Hospital Headquarters at Fort Ord, California. He was a 1953 graduate of St. Peter High School; a 1955 graduate of Jefferson City Junior College; and attended the University of Missouri.
